Guo Zhiyuan (郭芝苑) (1921-2013) Sonatina for Clarinet and Piano, 1st Movement. Recorded on 20 July 2009 in a studio at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. Accompanied by photographs of chinese life and landscapes by Jun Shan. Zhiyuan was a Taiwanese composer whose compositions drew from Taiwan’s traditional musical history, while utilising some incorporation of western compositional and harmonic elements.
