Cliffhanger (SNES) Playthrough - NintendoComplete

A playthrough of Sony Imagesoft’s 1993 license-based beat ’em up for the Super Nintendo, Cliffhanger. Cliffhanger for the SNES is virtually identical to the Genesis and Sega CD versions (with the obvious exception of the 3D snowboarding levels exclusive to the CD version). It follows the plot of the film fairly closely, with some somewhat-stylish cutscenes pushing the action along between stages. It plays out as a beat ’em up with occasional wall-scaling bits thrown in to change things up. There isn’t much variety at all in the moves, though, and the enemies like to gang up on you, putting you in situations where you really aren’t equipped to save yourself. The first couple levels are fairly easy, but it ramps up the number of cheap hits pretty quickly. The wall-scaling segments are worse - there seem to be very specific angles that you have to approach enemies (that aren’t even on-screen yet) so that you can get past them without being shot, and I’m not entirel
