Officially Replacing the MIG-31, Russia’s 6th Generation MiG-41 Will Make Its First Flight This Year

The Russian MiG-41, a sixth-generation fighter jet, will begin testing next year, aiming to replace the MiG-31 by 2028. This advanced aircraft is expected to surpass its predecessor with capabilities including speeds beyond Mach 4, potential operation in space, and interception of hypersonic missiles. The MiG-41 will feature new stealth technologies and possibly AI-enabled systems. Despite limited official details, the jet is anticipated to become the most sophisticated in its class, with mass production slated for 2025 and full service by 2028.
