Standard J-1 - Restoration Update - January 2020 - Part 1

FoF Mechanic’s Corner - Ken Kellett, Fantasy of Flight’s wood and fabric specialist, is back on the Standard J-1 restoration. If you remember, Kermit’s Standard J-1 is the plane that was used in several famous motion pictures, including The Great Waldo Pepper with Robert Redford, and The Spirit of St Louis with Jimmy Stewart. With the many diversions over the last year, it’s been a while since work has progressed on the J-1. Ken finally gets to focus on continuing the rebuilding of the fuselage. In this clip, Ken shows us the work that goes into fabricating a new set of longerons for the plane.
