FJR 6 (autumn 1944) - A regiment reborn

Fallschirmjäger-Regiment 6 was almost destroyed in Normandy in the summer of 1944, but it was pulled out before the jaws of the Falaise encirclement snapped. It was replenished in a matter of weeks, but the unit was recalled to the front in Belgium in September 1944 before training was finished. Secondary sources: Jack Didden, Fighting Spirit (2012).
