Murasakino Reibo. Riley Lee plays a classical Zen meditation on the shakuhachi 尺八 bamboo flute.
This classical honkyoku (Zen meditation music) for shakuhachi 尺八 is attributed to Ikkyu Zenji, a famous Buddhist priest from the 1400s. Murasakino is an old name for an area in Japan near Kyoto. so this is the version of Reibo (Yearning for the Bell) from that district.
This does fit with what we know about Ikkyu, as he did live in that area. Also, Ikkyu did write poetry about the shakuhachi. But there is no proof that he did or didn’t play this piece. Fortunately, this meditation piece is such beautiful
