Patellar Luxation (Veterinary Instrumentation Technique Overview)

In the latest episode of our Under The Skin series, created with Orthopaedic Specialist, Gareth Arthurs, we take a look at the common surgical procedures employed in the treatment of medial patellar luxation. Medial patellar luxation occurs where there is a malalignment of the quadriceps mechanism and when surgery is indicated, techniques are employed to either deepen the trochlear sulcus, transpose the tibial tuberosity to a more normal position, or both. This video demonstrates the three most common surgical techniques; the block recession sulcoplasty, the wedge recession sulcoplasty and the Tibial Tuberosity Transposition (TTT).
