Annbjørg Lien Performs Anders Viken’s "Huldresølvet" in Skei, Norway

Annbjørg Lien gave this wonderful fiddle performance on 23 June 1998 in Skei, Norway on the occasion of Anders Viken’s (1898-1977) hundredth birthday. My maternal grandfather Anders Viken was a notable fiddler and composer of Norwegian folk music from the municipality of Jølster, Norway. He composed over 500 songs including the oft-played wedding march entitled “Jølstrabrura“ (Jølster Bride) and the song performed here by Annbjørg Lien, “Huldresølvet“ (The Silver Elf).
