Jackie (1968 demo) - World Of Oz

Jackie - World Of Oz This recording is from the late Geoff Nicholls tape archive. Discovered in April 2020 on 1/4“ tape reel. This was recorded in Nicholls’ home at Hurlingham Rd, Kingstanding, Birmingham, England in the latter half of 1968. This song was written by Nicholls and perfected by World Of Oz in the Decca studio’s, London 4th - 5th November 1968 for the bands only album, the self titled World Of Oz. This demo’ version is basic but shows the strength of the tune made on a simple open reel recorder. Nicholls is playing organ and Christopher Evans is on guitar and vocals. Nicholls along with Rob Moore (drums) were latter member’s of the band as they joined bassist Tony Clarkson and vocalist Christopher Evan’s after the departure of organist David Kubinec and drummer David Reay halfway through the recording of the album. The World Of Oz ceased to be by the summer of 1969.
