Home Secretary Yvette Cooper condemned the shocking scenes of violence that erupted and were widely shared on social media Thursday evening. She warned that those behind the “audacious criminality“ would “face the full force of the law.“ On Friday, Roma community representatives met with Leeds City Council to “express concerns about a family matter“ from July 18. Previously, police reported being called around 5 pm on Thursday after social workers faced hostility while dealing with a child protection issue.
