Spooky stuff we did in our classroom this week 🎃

GIVE ME ALL THE SCARY STUFF. AGH. I love Halloween because during this time of the year, I can do all of the spooky stuff with my students that I love in my personal life. Here are some super fun stuff we did in our first spooky week of October: 1. 🎃 We decorated our own Halloween classroom - following the request of one student, made up a story and named all of the objects. 2. 🎃 I am finalizing my biggest Halloween town game yet, with one of my teenage students as a game development assistant :D It’s only missing a castle on the top of the hill before we jump into making a mystery game! 3. 🎃 We completed and designed our mystery Halloween game world. 4. 🎃 We tweaked our potion magic game world and got it ready for my little witches and wizards. 5. 🎃 We had listening comprehension, storytelling and practiced contextual grammar with an amazing, teacher-made story called Too Much Candy (search on YouTube) 6. 🎃 We decorated our spooky pumpkin and gave her personality and a back story! 7. 🎃 One of the students designed a potion to turn me into a rabbit and even dropped my picture into the cauldron! I have no idea why and I am not asking questions ahahah 8. 🎃 We also had a non-Halloween WIN of the week where we motivated shy pre-teens to speak about themselves through an All About Me worksheet and collaborative doodles! They laughed like crazy! Mission achieved and a good start of a long-term teaching project with Zhao Yang Education from Xinjiang, China! Do you want to be a part of ELLoquent’s magic journey? We have space just for one or two more individual students for this whole school year! If group classes are your thing - we have some openings there as well! #englishforkids #englishforchildren #speakingpractice #onlineenglish #onlineenglishforkids
