the GazettE - DIM SCENE [eng sub] LIVE HD

This is one of my all time favorite GazettE songs and it has a very special place for me, because it’s the song that really, really got me into the GazettE after it came out. Even after over a decade I still remember where I was when I first listened to it and how impactful it was. I still love it to this day - songs by Uruha often have this dark quality to them that I really enjoy. My favorite performance of it sadly can’t be uploaded to YouTube. It’s the one on The Nameless Liberty At Tokyo Dome, actually the first live DVD I ever bought. If you own it or have another way to view the performance of this song, I highly recommend it. But being at YouTube’s mercy, I opted for their Standing Live Tour14 Heresy Limited -Pulse Wriggling To Dim Scene Scene- performance of this song that lyrically encompasses all other songs on DIM. It was requested by carolina, I hope you like it! Translation by me. Annotations: “Yes, tell me the meaning of this crumbling sight“ - The first verb (“tell“) is actually left out in the original, but something along the lines of “tell“ or maybe “give“ is implied. “Following those that escape to nought“ - This might just be a poetic way of saying he follows them until their “number reaches zero“. “Maybe because of my numb heart“ - What Ruki reads as “kokoro“ (heart, mind) is actually the word “feelings“ (感情) in the written lyrics. “The festering lies have been covered up too much“ - “Covered up“ is literally “painted over“. “The demise started blooming on the wall“ - “Demise“ is actually read as “end“ in the song. (終焉 read “owari“). “My poetry burned by loss“ - Two things here. “Poetry“ can just be translated as “song“; that’s what it’s read as. But a different kanji is used for the word than in a prior line (“The song that lights up as I close my eyes“). In this line, one that refers more explicitly to poems, poetry is used. Also, unconventional kanji are used for the word “loss“, too. Here it’s spelled with a kanji that usually refers to a funeral. --------------- Thank you for watching and thank you for over 500 subs!!
