A number of defender players, myself included, have been wondering if the 5* defenders could beat this stage before, but it seemed like there were too many requirements to fulfill with only 13 operators. It used to require an annoying amount of dodge RNG just to open (avoiding DP drain enough to deploy defenders). Furthermore, many slots are wasted on cheap defenders to open, but they can’t be reused for tanking Damazti, defeating the drones, or DPSing the enemies. It seemed like 14 operator map. Underflow is great at opening with good multi-target phys AOE, capable of shooting down drones with S2, and can even provide damage on normal enemies or help out in the final Damazti stall removing drones harassing the healing defenders. I decided to try again with her and it ended up being possible to do 11 operators, owing to underflow, the fortress modules, Bassline, and the sentinel modules. In fact, it seems like we all underestimated the effect of sentinel fortress modules, and it might have been possible to do 12 ops without Underflow. Was overall a pretty fun map. Most of the maps that 5* defenders have not cleared are somewhat annoying DP damage checks of sorts, so it’s nice to play a map where you actually have DP to use and can focus on tactically blocking enemies or enduring strong attacks (ch 12 drones, Damazti). The full cycle for Damazti stalling is roughly as follows (there is some leeway with the timings, and Cuora/Bison skills swaps have been omitted because they just activate skills off CD and swap off CD. It’s mainly the left bodies that are problematic): 0s Underflow Skill 6s Drone is summoned, dies to Underflow 42s Blitz into Hung 47s Underflow Skill 53s Drone is summoned, dies to Underflow 55s Underflow into Liskarm 80s Hung s2 94s Drone is summoned, Hung full DEF Lisk help the healing defenders tank 105s, Liskarm S2 activated 125s Underflow deployed 132 Underflow skill - start from step 1 again Music: EDGE OF THE FUTURE - 13 Sentinels OST FFXIV Shadowbringers Goes Rock - Innocence Opener Damazti Spawn Drones Final Wave Damazti 4 Body Cycle
