Wilton and Axminster, Wiltshire. Exterior gates to Wilton House estate and shot of 17th century large house. Very rich interior of house with paintings of family on walls (Earl of Pembroke). C/U pattern on presumably Wilton rug. M/S exterior of Wilton Royal Carpet factory. Interior shows C/U bundles of wool. Man chooses wool from racks. He then cuts the wool into lengths for making carpet on a handmade tuft cutter. The wool is put into a basket and taken to a loom where Gertrude Foyle is sitting making a carpet by hand. C/U Gertrude tying wool in knots on frame. Another loom and a different woman who beats the wool on the loom. She then picks up a hand shuttle and threads it through. C/U bobbins and pan to machine making carpet. Man stands over it and checks it. M/S Axminster town and top shot with green double decker along main high street.
