The official audio for ’Nocturnal Hours’ (feat. Jørgen Munkeby) by Haunted Shores. Pre-save the new album ’Void’ at Nocturnal Hours: This was actually a song that we tried to put together for Viscera, but we just couldn’t quite nail the arrangement. We were messing with this tuning we jokingly refer to as “Scorlet“ tuning because it’s the minor version of the “Scarlet” tuning, thereby giving it a dark feel. We had no trouble coming up with a multitude of riffs, not to mention riffs and sections that flowed well into one another. However, we really struggled with an overall arrangement that didn’t just feel like a riff salad, which was and still is a pet peeve of ours. We ditched “Song 3“, as it was known back then, and almost forgot about it. As we were working on this album, we took a look at the project and we were able to see it from a different perspective, perhaps something that could have only been done by taking some time away from the song.
