Colonial Hong Kong’s UNTOLD Apartheid Laws - Keybros SOFTvlog Ep.1: The Peak

In our first episode of SOFTvlog, we collaborate with our Italian guests on SOFTtalk Fabrizio and Stefano, as we uncover Colonial Hong Kong’s Apartheid Jim Crow Laws, i.e., the Peak District Reservation Ordinance 1904, which was a discriminatory segregation legislation targeted at ethnic Chinese people while exploring some of the last remaining colonial Hong Kong structures on Victoria Peak. This piece of history is not well covered in Hong Kong’s education system, resulting in an unfortunate glorification and idealization of colonialism among today’s youth since many of them only focus on the positives and are simply clueless and ignorant about its negative side effects and dark history. The main purpose of this vlog is educational.
