The criticisms focus on the recent conviction of 14 political dissidents by CCP authorities, and come in the wake of recent CCP suppression in Hong Kong about discussions on the history of the Tiananmen Square massacre. The CCP controls several territories where it employs additional abusive policies as a way to maintain its authority, including in Xinjiang and Tibet. And the question is now growing regarding whether Hong Kong could also find itself under similar policies.
