Yiddish Melbourne Adult Yiddish VCE Class 2010

The first ever adult Yiddish VCE/Matriculation class graduated with excellent results in Melbourne this year. Some of these adult students originally came from Yiddish speaking homes, others didn’t, but they all share a common love of the language and culture. This year they decided to improve their abilities and knowledge formally and Alex Dafner asked the students, Ruth Boltman, Andrew Firestone, Goldie Frydman, Anne Gawenda and Helen White, about their own and family’s backgrounds, connections to Yiddish, and motivation and experience of studying the Yiddish VCE
