PRECISION TOGETHER - JDAM Live Fire Exercise | Finnish Defence Forces

The Finnish Navy conducted a coastal defense exercise supported by the Finnish Air Force, utilizing air-to-ground operations. Efficient and professional cooperation was demonstrated throughout the exercise. The target, an amphibious landing craft unloading troops, was successfully identified. The marine reconnaissance swiftly located it amidst the vast Finnish Archipelago, which consists of over 126,611 islands. From a Jehu-class landing craft, the Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC), issued the order for an air-to-ground attack. The Finnish Air Forces unleashed the power of the McDonnell Douglas F/A-18C Hornet, a formidable 4th-generation multi-role fighter. With its impressive speed of 1.8 Mach and a range of 500 miles, the Hornet is the perfect aerial asset for this mission. Equipped with JDAM precision-guided air-to-ground munitions, the F/A-18C Hornet was ready to strike with unparalleled accuracy. These JDAM bombs, boasting a range of 28 km and a warhead of GBU-38 (500 lbs), ensured devastating results against the enemy. Captain Mikael skillfully guided the Hornet with precision towards the target. The moment of truth arrived as the JDAM bomb was released. Boom! The enemy landing craft was obliterated, showcasing the immense power, precision, and effectiveness of the Finnish Defence Forces’ cooperation.
