Who was Baruch Goldstein? | History of Israel Explained | Unpacked

In 1994 an American-born Jewish medical doctor Baruch Goldstein massacred 29 Palestinians worshipping in the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron. Although his reasons for committing this crime remain unknown, the act caused an outcry among most of the Jewish People worldwide and resulted in increased Palestinian terror attacks in Israel, as well as a rift among religious Israelis, were were divided in their support and condemnation for Goldstein’s actions and the Kahanist movement.
