Caruso sings this powerful aria from Gounod’s opera “The Queen Of Sheba“. Originally recorded by Victor February 5, 1916, this recording features an electrically recorded London Symphony Orchestra overdubbed in 1936. Throughout the 1930’s, RCA Victor in the USA and EMI/HMV in England grafted electrically recorded accompaniments to many Caruso recordings with varying degrees of success. This is one of the better efforts.
