1968 Triumph TR 250 - Gateway Classic Cars - San Antonio/Austin #0758

Gateway Classic Cars of San Antonio/Austin is excited to present this 1968 Triumph TR250. Produced for only one model year, the Michelotti designed TR250, known as the TR5 in Europe, was very similar to the TR4 sports car, albeit a 6-cylinder over the previous car’s 4-cylinder engine. While the European TR5 was fitted with Lucas’ fuel injection system, the TR250 utilized twin Zenith-Stromberg carburetors. Standard equipment included front disc brakes, independent rear suspension, rack and pinion steering and a four-speed gearbox. Just over 8,000 TR250s were produced for the US market and is estimated that less than 600 remain today around the world. The TR250’s hp increase over the TR-4A was only 6 ponies, but torque rose from 128 lbft to 152, and at a lower rpm. That combined with the Triumph six’ inherent smooth ways made a marked improvement in feel and acoustics, even if objective performance wasn’t really much better. Inside, the Triumph TR250 offers a range of features designed to enhance your comfort and enjoyment. The tan leather interior provides a luxurious and inviting atmosphere, while the air conditioning system ensures a pleasant ride regardless of the weather. For your entertainment, the vehicle is equipped with an AM/FM radio, allowing you to enjoy your favorite tunes as you cruise down the road. Driving this classic car is made even more enjoyable with the inclusion of power brakes, which provide confident stopping power. The radial tires offer improved handling and ride quality, ensuring that every journey is smooth and controlled. This 1968 TR250 is a captivating blend of style, performance, and comfort. With its beautiful burgundy exterior, luxurious tan leather interior, and an array of desirable features, it offers a driving experience that is both memorable and enjoyable. Whether you’re a classic car enthusiast or simply appreciate fine automotive design, this Triumph TR250 is sure to impress.
