Alykel ghost town

Alykel - a former military town near Norilsk, where was based the Air Force transport squadron. The task of the squadron was freight and passenger transportation for the needs of the military units of Taimyr and the entire north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, up to the islands of the Arctic Ocean. This squadron was stationed at Alykel Airport (Norilsk). In the town there were barracks for personnel, a club, a canteen, a bathhouse, a boiler room and other buildings. Later, the construction of high-rise buildings for pilot families began, but was never completed. .
