Virginia Zeani, Nicola Rossi Lemeni duet “L’Elisir d’ amore“

Virginia Zeani is joined by her husband, Bass Nicola Rossi Lemeni, in a scintillating duet for Adina and Doctor Dulcamara from Act II of L’Elisir d’amore. When Zeani was just 26 years old she sang Adina opposite the great Beniamino Gigli, who was then in his sixties. L’Elisir was one of several operas Zeani and her husband performed in together. They enjoyed one of operas most successful marriages and after retiring from the stage went on to become senior professors in the University School of Music in Bloomington, Indiana .
