Visit Visit our website These silent home movies were shot by Dr. E. H. Eassa, a physician in the Egyptian Air Force, in the 1950s and 60s. The films present a rare view of Egyptian life in this period, and show Dr. Eassa’s middle-class family, their friends and their activities. This particular film shows hints of the growing military build-up that coincided with the rise of Nasser to power, leading up to the Suez Crisis.
