#8: Tower Of Inspiration

Now we move on to Dave Weckl, arguably the greatest living drummer. This groove is from “Tower Of Inspiration“ of his “Master Plan“ CD. This groove should be treated with care with emphasis placed in the bass drums on the last 16th note on beat 4 and on beat 2. Start off slow and get used to hearing the syncopated snare drum patterns, this is classic Weckl displacement of a groove. Again the ghost notes should be almost inaudible, felt rather than heard.
