1/36 Infantry takes back Karbala in 2004

Vidoe of my 1st unit, 1/36 IINF of the 1st BDE 1st AD, taking back the city of Karbala in May of 2004 which had Sharia law imposed on it by a milita loyal to Muqtada Al-Sadr. Muqtatda Al-Sadr was a renegade religious cleric from a slum district in Baghdad, known as Sadr City, who took full adavantage of several power vaccuums throughout the southern part of the country. This all took place shortly after the Spanish immediately withdrew their troops from Iraq as a result of the 2004 Madrid train bombings and left the city unoccupied for weeks
