Forced to flee their homeland following a Kremlin crackdown on dissident voices inside Russia, many have fled to the former Soviet satellite states of Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania. In Vilnius, a group of opposition reporters have been working to uncover the true death toll of Putin’s war in Ukraine, work that would likely land them hefty prison sentences in Russia.
