Pawntasy in Ab for wind quintcat (Vinnie)

Pawntasy in Ab major - composed to honor the memory of the adorable Vinnie (Vincent). This piece was commissioned by 4 of the members of the ’Category 5’ wind quintet, from the USA, as a gift for the 5th member who has recently lost her beloved cat, Vinnie. Last week they have gathered together for a rehearsal, where they revealed the piece to Vinnie’s mom and played it together! I’ve been told that it was very emotional and that they have enjoyed playing it very much! Tomorrow I’m going to share a recording that they have sent me from the rehearsal so stay tuned... In this piece, I tried to capture Vinnie’s playfulness alongside his easygoing attitude.
