Israel raises flag in Hezbollah theme park called ’Garden of Iran’

Israeli troops have raised their national flag at the Garden of Iran, a Hezbollah theme park on the Lebanon-Israel border. A video showed a small group of soldiers raising the Israeli flag on a hilltop surrounded by the rubble of the destroyed attraction site. The Garden was gifted to the Lebanese border village of Maroun al-Ras by Iran in 2010. It featured a replica of Jerusalem’s Dome of the Rock as well as a statue of Qassem Soleimani, the Iranian Revolutionary Guards commander killed in a US air strike in Baghdad in 2020. Lebanese media said that the site was on Lebanese territory after an initial denial by Hezbollah.
