Photofit Identikit - 1970 | The Archivist Presents | #304
My archive colleague Lucy alerted me to this fabulous newsreel story. We are both fans of true crime documentaries so this one was right up our street!
Bad news for criminals as the Home Office brings out an improved system for identifying lawbreakers. Called “Photo-fit“, the invention uses photographs of facial characteristics and is said to be more effective than the line-drawn “Indentikit“ method currently used by most police forces.
LV Professor Jaques Penry demonstrate photofit. SCU Prof. fitting head section to photo. SV Home Office officials etc. SV professor points to photofit. 6 CUs, officials, police photo exhibition, photo of inventor, pan with photographs, photofit kit in case. CU photofit of Eric Morecambe.
