IBM PC/XT (Model 5160): Part 7 (Power supply refurbish)

Finally taking a look at the power supply. It’s rated at 130W @ 220VAC and outputs 5VDC (red), -5VDC (white), -12VDC (grey), 12VDC (yellow). On the AC input conditioning stage (?) there’s a pair of RIFA X2-class capacitors (0.1µF 275V) across the active - neutral lines to help clean any noise coming in on the AC line. Both of them had exploded (surprise). This won’t affect the functionality of the power supply - they have obviously failed open so it’s like they’re not there at all. If they had failed closed then they would’ve shorted active and neutral, tripping the fuse and preventing the supply from operating at all. I replaced them with equivalent Suntan-brand X2-class capacitors. I replaced all of the electrolytic capacitors as well, except for the two large 470µF 200V and two 330µF as I didn’t have any handy - all rated at 105ºC: 1µF 50V (2) 2.2µF 50V 3.3µF 25V 10µF 25V (4) 22µF 16V 47µF 16V 100µF 25V 330µF 16V (2) 470µF 25V 470µF 200V (2) 1000µF 25V 2200µF 10V (2) 4700µF 16V Other than the four capacitors still to be replaced, the only other task remaining is what to do about the rust on the inside of the case. Considering just spraying a coat or two of some silver paint - it’s inside the power supply so won’t be seen and coating it with paint should prevent air getting to it and stopping the rust ... ?
