As per the sacred hindu texts of astrology Nakshatras are the constellations. These are the lunar mansions where moon stays approx for one day. Each mansion is of 13°20’ which further divided into 3°20’. This means each nakshatra is divided into four parts called padas of 3°20’. As per different texts there are 27 or 28 nakshatras.
We can broadly divide 27 nakshtras into 3 groups of 9. The moon passes through the zodiac in 28 days which means through 12 signs and 27 nakshatras.
An individual is born into a particular nakshatra (moon nakshatra) and in its particular pada. When an individual is born the nine planets falls into 9 nakhatras which are very important. But from all Vedic astrology considers moon nakshatra the most. Each nakshtra has Gunas, devas and a mantra associated.
One should chant the Janam nakshatra mantra or the mantra of a planet whose dasha antardasha is going on. It will enhance the positive results, protection and reduce the suffering if any.
