Edmar Fenicio - PRANTOS (valsa)

PRANTOS (Valsa) соmposed for solo guitar by Edmar Fenicio who celebrates his 84-th birthday today! This video is my birthday greeting to Maestro Fenicio. Here is what Maestro told me about this composition: “My intention in composing this Waltz had three purposes: the first one was to honor the inspired composer Quincas Laranjeiras. The second, a little more modest, was to remember José Augusto de Freitas, a friend of Quincas and try to make this my Waltz to have small resemblance to SOLUCOS, another beautiful Waltz of José de Freitas, which was appreciated and performed by Brazilian guitarists. And this my intent I succeeded as much so that waltz got the name PRANTOS what may be translated as “someone who cries too much”. A third intention was to make this Waltz as being authored by Quincas himself and he making a dedication to his friend José Augusto de Freitas. I think as being laborious and interesting work that seems to me unique among compositions of this genre”. The above mentioned V
