Traditional Kokyu

Traditional Kokyu is a stringed instrument that produces sound by rubbing three strings which are woven from silk with a horsehair bow. At the ‘Owara Kaze no Bon’, a traditional festival held every September in Toyama, people parade in the town playing this instrument for three days and three nights. Traditional Kokyu (Koki) Traditional Kokyu (oak) 伝統胡弓は、絹を編んだ糸に、馬の尻尾を擦り付けて発音するバイオリンのような楽器です。富山県で毎年9月に行われるイベント「おわら風の盆」では、3日3晩に渡り、この楽器を演奏しながら街を練り歩きます。
