Welcome to the headquarters of the Owl Research Institute! This cam is located behind ORI’s workshop and office, located on an old farm near Charlo, Montana. In the winter, the trees behind the pond are favorite perches for many raptors, including Great Horned Owls, Bald Eagles, Red-tailed Hawks, and Rough-legged Hawks. In the early spring and summer, our resident Great Horned Owl pair usually nest in the area. The open grasslands and fields surrounding the pond are home to species like Short-eared Owls, Northern Harriers, and others.
