KNIFE MAKING SPANISH NAVAJA

Hello This is the (personal) reproduction of the classic Spanish pocket knife from the 17th and 18th century. Napoleon’s brother banned swords and the Spanish resistance made huge folding knives to defend themselves from the invader, besides firearms. Finally they went to their country. These knives (bandolero style) were the inspiration for the famous bowie knife. This particular blade has a rounded tip, it is designed to penetrate and not break. In the original design, the blade of the knife was wider at the tip, in my case it is the same thickness throughout the blade. Of course they didn’t have 3d printers, they used a bull or deer horn. As I have already said it is a personal reproduction. Today there are still some master knife craftsmen in Spain who make exact and wonderful reproductions of these knives, for instance Luis Vergara google (navaja clasica española siglo 18) Index of operation and materials: 0:15 Handle inside galvanized metal part 2:30
