Target Fixation When Seeing Gravel - Stupid Mistake

I was riding faster than I was accustomed to, so was a little nervious, but doing OK for a couple of hours at this pace. Then I suddenly saw all this gravel at the edge of the road. Instead of focusing on around the curve where I wanted to go, I looked at the gravel, ran wide and wound up right in the stuff.
