Fish Hatcheries (1959)

Chirk (in the former county of Denbighshire), nr. Wrexham, Clwyd, North Wales. M/S of foreman troutbreeder George Stevens and his assistant, Joe Moore, wheeling a trolley with several buckets and a spaniel on, towards the camera. The men pick up buckets and walk to the edge of one of the fish hatcheries’ ponds. They scoop minced cod from the buckets and throw it into the pond for the trout. The water splashes and froths as the fish thrash around to get to the food. C/U of George. C/U of the bucket of cod at George’s feet as he digs his trowel in. M/S of the cod landing in the water.
