Under dazzling neon lights, they spin and dance to music from a bygone era. “When I’m on the dance floor, I forget myself,” said 76-year-old Celeste Chou. “What is my age?” Many other senior dance students like Celeste are immigrants who devoted their younger years to a career or family life. And since discovering ballroom dancing during retirement, they have found joy in their new-found passion. “Make every day a happy day,” said 79-year-old Jolene Deng. “I will keep coming here to dance as long as I can.” Support us: Follow us on: Website: Facebook: Twitter: Instagram: Linkedin: #scmp #SCMPFilms #AsianAmericans
