Why Will Packer Would Recruit Kevin Hart to Fight a Rogue Lion

Will Packer is one of the most prolific producers out there. He’s been busy adding credit after credit to his filmography ever since 2000 with titles like Girls Trip, The Photograph, the Ride Along movies, and then some. Clearly he’s already accomplished quite a bit, but Packer shows no signs of slowing down. In fact, he’s got his sights set on tackling as many new challenges as possible, challenges like making a survival thriller on location with a CGI lion. Beast stars Idris Elba as Nate Samuels, a man who takes his daughters (Iyana Halley and Leah Jeffries) to the place where he first met his late wife, South Africa. While there, they meet up with Sharlto Copley’s Martin, a local game reserve manager, to tour the region. All is going well until the group unexpectedly becomes the target of a rogue lion, a vicious creature out for blood after poachers slaughtered his pride. With Beast now playing in theaters nationwide, I got the chance to chat with Packer about his experience making the movie.
