Russian BT-3F APC is being tested in harsh snowy terrain

The Russian defense corporation, Rostec, recently unveiled a video showcasing the active testing of their latest armored personnel carrier, the BT-3F model. Apparently, the vehicle is undergoing preparation for operation in the harshest conditions. This might explain why the demonstrations of the BT-3F have been situated in Russia’s bitter winter landscapes. The video shows the tracked carrier skillfully navigating bumps, small hills and rough terrains, displaying its impressive capabilities. Rostec disclosed in the middle of the previous year that the design and manufacture of the BT-3F armoured carrier had been successfully accomplished by the Russian defense industry. The unique selling point of this armoured carrier, according to Rostec, is its tailored design specifically for Marine units and joint forces. The focus of this armored personnel carrier demonstrator is a remotely-controlled weapon station, armed with a mm machine gun. However, there’s room for larger guns too. These include heavier weapons like 12.7- or 14.5 mm heavy machine guns, or 30- or 40 mm automatic grenade launchers. Additionally, the BT-3F can house two forward-firing, bow-mounted mm machine guns. Operated by dismounts seated on either side of the driver’s quarters, these guns bring some serious firepower.
