I suspect that the recordings made by Charles Kellogg are not regarded with great esteem nowadays. If this is the case, the attitude is quite unjustified, as the sheer musicality of what he did shines through his performances.
Kellogg’s ’Songs of Our Native Birds’ was recorded for Victor at Camden, NJ, on 15 and 16 February 1915.
