I dream of a series of box set recordings, live performances, and DVDs of the music of Beroit, Rode, Sauret, etc - recorded by Ehnes, Kaler, Kavakos, Mintz, Repin, etc and also recitals filled with this kind of music. If that ever happened I would truly be in fiddle nirvana! In addition to that, I think of what a recital was really like back then, for example imagine Paganini playing a Viotti concerto but using his own cadenza or better yet, improvising a solo using a cadenza as a guideline. Then after that go on to play his own music. Perhaps Kreisler was the last violinist to do that? But what if a whole new generation of players started doing that again? It doesn’t hurt to encourage people and make suggestions does it? Am I asking too many questions?
