Visit Visit our website Made by an obscure company called Bengal Pictures, this 1950s short film “Gold Trails“ is narrated by Perry King and produced by Phil E. Cantonwine. The film looks at some of the towns along the former Gold Trail in Nevada and California. Bengal Pictures’ films were apparently made for the home market, and tried to visually tie into the “Western cowboy and Indian“ craze which was sweeping the country at the time. This explains how a film about ghost towns and the gold rush era contains a gunfight! In any case, this film begins with shots of Death Valley followed by scenes from Rhyolite in Nevada, and Columbia, Murphys, Mokelumne Hill, and Calico in California.
