Hovercraft Racing - ’HOVER BOVER’ (by Syd Pearman)

Back in 1981 we read that the finals of the International Championship of the new sport of Hovercraft Racing was to be held for the first time in Great Britain. The chosen venue was Stanford Hall in Leicestershire - not too far from where we lived - so we decided to go along and film the event. We entered our completed 16mm film in the prestigious ’Ten Best’ competition in 1982 where it won one of the Ten Best trophies and was shown at the National Film Theatre in London. pearmsydn@
