Maglio of Bienno

this was in the town of Bienno, Italy. This was in one of the many magli in the northern region of Italy. this is inside the maglio showing the frer at work in the beginning stages of making buckets. here they take a thick plate of steel and draw it into a circular shape, drawing out the edges but keeping the center still quite thick. more to come... the technology inside the magli is something quite impressive. it ha water powered “trip hammers“, water powered maglietti (“planishing hammers“), water
