Donna Hightower - This World today is a Mess (Austrian TV, 1975)

Donna Lubertha Hightower (1926 - 2013) was an American R&B-, soul and jazz singer and songwriter. Later in her career she was based in Europe, where she had a hit in 1972 with “This World Today is a Mess.“ She was 48 years old the day this TV-performance has been recorded. Spotlight was a music show for the youth, which was aired between 1968 and 1978 by the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF). It was the counterpart to the shows “Beat Club“ or “Musikladen“ in Germany.
