Windmill Girls Adopt Sailors (1957)

Lee-on-the-Solent, Hampshire. Members of the Fleet Air Arm Field Gun Crew demonstrate their prowess with a trapeze transporting gun components. Two Windmill Girls watch the display. The men are training for the Royal Naval Field Gun Tournament. The sailors have chosen Windmill Girls to be their mascots. Various shots of the sailors going about their training. Two of the Windmill Girls demonstrate their own trapeze act whilst their sailor fans watch. It is pretty ungraceful. Some of the other girls get a go on the transporter too. Girls featured are Sadie Comben, Wendy Clark, Pat Patterson, Gillian Larraby, Micki Allen and Noreen Day. (Unsure of spellings on all of these.) One of the girls attempts to walk the tightrope. She falls into the arms of a waiting sailor, flashing her petticoats. Royal Navy helicopter hovers above the field. One of the sailors is lifted into the air on a harness from the helicopter. A couple of girls have a go too. They have skirts on naturally so part of the enjoyment
