Dictyostelium discoideum: a cellular slime mold

Here is a cellular slime mold forming stalked fruiting bodies in time lapse video. At the beginning you’re looking at a close-up of an agar surface in a petri dish that has been streaked with bacteria that Dictyostelium likes to eat. The myxamoebae begin aggregating and differentiating into stalked fruiting bodies, each topped with a small capsule or sporangium containing the spores. Video taken over 4 days and 17 hrs. More here:
